Professional:  

Tab serves on the Associates Committee for the Campaign for Equal Justice and is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association. 

Civic:

Tab volunteers with Metropolitan Family Service’s Project Linkage, a program that provides assistance to older adults and people with disabilities in the Portland community.

Tab also participates in the Multnomah Bar Association’s Imprint Program, which pairs young attorneys with local high school students to foster analytical and writing skills through correspondence regarding an assigned novel.

Personal:

Tab spends his time outside of the office with friends and family including his wife, Abby, and their dog, Jack. He enjoys playing soccer, trying new restaurants, and when time allows, traveling. He is also an avid fan of the Sewanee Tigers.

Education & Bar Admissions:

Tab received his bachelor’s degree in English, with a minor in Spanish, from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2008. He obtained his law degree from the University of Oregon in 2011.

Tab was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2011 and the United States District for the District of Oregon in 2012.

Law Practice:

Tab Wood joined Cosgrave in 2011. He defends financial institutions, large and small
businesses, and individuals in civil litigation. His specialties include
wrongful foreclosure and contested judicial foreclosure litigation. He has
extensive experience with MERS-related issues and with the developing body of
Oregon federal and state law that affects Cosgrave’s mortgage lender and
servicer clients. Tab also has experience defending FELA actions, as well as
lawsuits against contractors and design professionals.

During law school, Tab worked for the Civil Enforcement Division of the Oregon Department of Justice.  As part of his coursework, he completed a business law externship with Banfield: The Pet Hospital and participated in the University’s prosecution clinic, working for the District Attorney’s Office of Lane County. Tab served as a Staff and Associate Editor for the Oregon Law Review and as the Chair of the University of Oregon Pro Bono Executive Board.He also competed at the regional and national levels of the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition.  In 2010 Tab worked at Cosgrave as a summer associate.
