Law Practice
Andy is the Chair of the firm’s construction practice group and a former managing partner of the firm. His practice focuses on providing advice and counsel to contractors, developers, architects, and engineers, litigating construction defect disputes, and construction related professional negligence claims. He also has significant experience in defending personal injury, products liability, environmental, and premises liability litigation.
Education & Bar Admissions
Andy earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Oregon in 1983 and his law degree from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark College in 1987.
Andy was admitted to the Oregon State Bar and United States District Court for Oregon in 1988. In 2011, he was admitted to the Washington State Bar.
Professional
Andy is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Oregon, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, and the Multnomah Bar Association. He has served on the Multnomah County Local Professional Responsibility Committee and the State Lawyer Assistance Committee. Andy is also a member of the ALFA International Construction Practice Group Steering Committee. ALFA International is the premier network of independent law firms, having 150 member firms throughout the world.
He frequently speaks and writes on all aspects of construction-from contract formation and bid process to construction disputes, liens, and post construction defect and professional negligence claims.
Civic
Andy volunteers as a member of the Owen Panner Inn of Court, a non-profit legal organization dedicated to the education and mentoring of young lawyers.

Andy enjoys gardening, hiking and bicycle riding.
